    BOLD STATEMENT

    myyearofeverything:

Reading books on electronic devices is no fun. Can’t see how far along you are, unless I activate that feature, and then that’s ALL I can pay attention to. Can’t do it in the sun. (YES, I know you can with a Kindle, but the last thing I need is another glowing rectangle to stare at.) Can’t smell the book smell.

    Phooey!

Gonna power through “Chastened” on my iPad Kindle app, and then it’s back to actual physical books.

Man, I’ve had the exact opposite experience!  The Kindle DX has been a Godsend, particularly when it comes to reading for work, which tends to be textbook-sized volumes of dense computer stuff.  The adjustable text size is increasingly helpful for me, as my vision deteriorates ever further.  I do want to be That Annoying Nerd Person who points out that the Kindle’s screen doesn’t actually glow; it’s why you can read in the sun but not in a dark room.
